Things to remember

Some things are decided. Some are still just ideas.

The beginning: We open with the Ephors. Carneia is the reason Sparta cannot go to war. Ares tells them the gods do not approve of the war. Apollo overhears him and decides to help.
TopicWhere we are with it
Album expansionStill working on
Seven song slots have been added: “The Hand That Draws the String” and six untitled placeholders. Two of the seven are for Artemis, including the titled song, and two are for Aphrodite. Another is the untitled Elysium choir: Ancient Greek voices only, with no instruments, immediately after Leonidas dies. Current roadmap counts: Trials of Fire 16, Trials of the Mind 13, Trials of Darkness 12.
The endingJust an idea
One idea is that Zeus takes Greece and the name Ares away from him, turning him into Mars. We have not decided if we are doing this yet or exactly how it would happen.
Captain AtticusCurrent
Atticus is Leonidas’s second in command. He leads the interaction with the Persian Messenger in the new version. Artemis is only the goddess.
DoublingStill working on
The Ephors also play other characters. Right now we have the Persian Messenger, Persian General, Oracle and the Kleon/Hades track. The fifth track is still open. Atticus also plays Cleom, and Ephialtes also plays Leonidas’s father.
HadesCurrent
Hades is the voice of death in “The Final Stand.” He primarily leads the Ancient Greek Elysium song: three judges begin Leonidas’s judgment, Hades joins as the fourth voice when they recognize his courage and sacrifice, and he leads the final passage allowing Leonidas into Elysium. He may still be played by the same actor as Kleon.
History and mythologyCurrent
We use real history and mythology, but this is still our version of the story. Something being historical does not automatically make it part of the musical.
The sound

Music

The different groups should sound different from each other. We are using rock, pop, R&B, rap, soul, EDM, dark synth, acoustic and electronic drums, synth bass, 808s, horns and strings.

Athena: vibraphone · Apollo: harp and voices · Artemis: flute · Ares: march drums and strings · Aphrodite: marimba · Poseidon: piano · Zeus: electric sound · Hades: dark choir · Cyrus: disco synth

Not part of this

Keep separate

The World Before Tomorrow is a completely different project. None of its story belongs in The Final Stand. What a God is also not a song in this musical.
